gran plaza de Dubrovnik, se encuentra al final de la arteria m\u00e1s ancha que cruza los l\u00edmites urbanos de oeste a este, llamada Stradun o Placa. Cada extremo representa un punto de entrada a la ciudad, marcado por una puerta y una plaza. Esta estructura, claramente visible en fotograf\u00eda a\u00e9rea, est\u00e1 relacionada con el nacimiento de la ciudad. Diez siglos atr\u00e1s, Stradun era un canal que separaba la antigua colonia greco-romana de Ragusa, ubicada en una isla, del asentamiento eslavo en el continente, Dubrva. En el siglo XI, el canal se colmata y las dos comunidades se unen, aunque la rivalidad y el desprecio mutuo nunca cesar\u00e1n. Un siglo despu\u00e9s estar\u00e1n dentro de las mismas murallas. Siguiendo el esquema cl\u00e1sico del proceso de sinocismo, la plaza principal se configura en el punto de contacto geogr\u00e1fico de las dos comunidades. As\u00ed naci\u00f3 Trg Lu\u017ea y aqu\u00ed se construir\u00e1n a lo largo de su historia los edificios m\u00e1s importantes: la catedral, la estatua de Orlando, el Palacio del Rector, el Palacio Sponza, la Torre del Reloj y la peque\u00f1a fuente de Onufry. La calle de la fuente une la plaza Lu\u017ea con la plaza Gunduli\u0107eva Poljana, mucho m\u00e1s tard\u00eda, construida despu\u00e9s del terremoto de 1667.
