Es una plaza peque\u00f1a y tranquila con otros ritmos que la Pra\u00e7a do Com\u00e9rcio, a la que se accede transitando en l\u00ednea recta la Rua do Arsenal, a escasos 70 metros. La Pra\u00e7a do Munic\u00edpio pertenece tambi\u00e9n al tejido urbano resultante de la reconstrucci\u00f3n de la ciudad bajo el mando del marqu\u00e9s de Pombal.
