Zidurile urc\u0103 \u0219i coboar\u0103 panta dealului ce separ\u0103 cele dou\u0103 localit\u0103\u021bi. Mali Ston a fost fondat \u00een 1333, ca parte a unui sistem defenisiv menit s\u0103 protejeze cetatea Dubrovnik, iar Ston e printre primele a\u0219ez\u0103ri din perioad\u0103 constuite potrivit unui plan clar stabilit dinainte, cu str\u0103zi drepte, cl\u0103diri administrative \u0219i spa\u021bii reziden\u021biale. La Mali Ston, portul joac\u0103 rol de pia\u021b\u0103, a\u0219a cum se \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103 \u00een mod tradi\u021bional \u00een mai toate a\u0219ez\u0103rile\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0din zona Mediteranei.
