As\u0131l merkez noktas\u0131, g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczdeki Bazilikan\u0131n yerinde sadece bir saray \u015fapeli oldu\u011fu zamanda, Asil Saray&#8217;\u0131n bir meydan\u0131 ve avlusu olarak i\u015flev g\u00f6ren San Marco meydan\u0131d\u0131r. Meydan alan\u0131 1156 y\u0131l\u0131nda, \u00e7evreyi ikiye b\u00f6len bir nehrin t\u0131kanmas\u0131ndan sonra ortaya \u00e7\u0131kar.
